Nail Art

If you’re looking to add a bit of glamour to your nails, then why not try using Scotch tape to create something extra. Whilst it might sound a little offbeat, with a tiny bit of tape, and a fair bit of practice, you could add straight edges, sharp lines as well as geometric patterns to your nail art.

It’s a fairly straightforward process, but it’s certainly something that you’ll perfect in time. Wait for the base colour to dry, and then simply cut the tape into little shapes. Apply the Scotch tape as you wish, but ensure that you leave enough tape over the edges so you can grip when it comes to pulling off the tape. Once you have applied the second coat of polish, in a different colour, wait for it to dry and then pull off the tape to reveal your base colour; creating an awesome nail-art effect.

Brighten up your office, home, or street with a tape sculpture. Whilst it might look a tad strange to start with, it’s certainly something that’ll get work colleagues, friends and family talking.

Take this sculpture as an example. The piece itself is called ‘Bicycle Ride’ and it depicts a child learning to ride a bicycle. These can be great fun around the office, as long as the office supplies manager doesn’t mind of course. If you’re really into it, such sculptures could be features of your home too.

Tape art and tape sculptures are not the easiest of things to master, but with patience and a bit of practice you could be the adhesive Banksy.

Removing fluff from clothes

One of most popular uses of Scotch Tape, other than your traditional ones of course, is to use it for removing cloth, lint and other small items of fluff on your clothes. There’s nothing worse than having a clean top with the addition of tiny pieces of cloth, or worse, dog hair.

What’s annoying is that you don’t want to have to put it through the wash again, and additionally, they’re so small that it’s near impossible to pick these pieces off one-by-one. The solution? Take a strip of Scotch Tape and simply apply against your clothes to remove any unwanted cloth, lint or animal hair.
