5 Fun & Edible Craft Projects for Kids

1. Bucket of Dirt with Worms – Edible Craft

Ingredients:

  • Clear plastic cups for the bucket
  • Vanilla pudding
  • Chocolate cookie crumbles
  • Gummi worms

Directions:

  • Layer the bottom of each cup with cookie crumbles to create the dirt.
  • Press gummi worms along the side of the cup.
  • Fill the cup with vanilla pudding and top it off with more cookie crumbles.

2. Candy Sushi – Edible Craft

Ingredients:

  • Rice Krispies treats
  • Fruit Rollups
  • Swedish Fish

Directions:

  • Shape Rice Krispies treats into circles and cylinders
  • Cut the Swedish Fish in half. In the circular Rice Krispies, press the Swedish fish in the middle, and wrap the outside in the fruit rollup.
  • On the cylinder Rice Krispies, place a whole Swedish fish on the top. Cut the fruit rollup into strips and wrap around the Swedish fish to keep in place.

3. Candy Cane Hearts – Edible Craft

Ingredients:

  • Mini candy canes
  • Chocolate almond bark
  • Vanilla almond bark

Directions:

  • On a sheet of wax paper, place the candy canes together to form a heart.
  • Spoon melted chocolate almond bark into the middle of each heart, let set.
  • Spoon melted vanilla almond bark over the chocolate, let set.
  • Drizzle chocolate over the heart.

4. Painted Popcorn – Edible Craft

Ingredients:

  • Popcorn
  • Milk
  • Food coloring

Directions:

  • Mix a tablespoon of milk with 1 or 2 drops of food coloring.
  • Pop some popcorn, and use paint brush to brush the milk over it.

5. Edible Stained Glass – Edible Craft

Ingredients:

  • Hard candy
  • Cookie cutters
  • Parchment paper
  • Cookie sheet
  • Cooking spray

Directions:

  • Place parchment paper on cookie sheet and spray with cooking spray.
  • Place hard candies in cookie cutters.
  • Bake in oven at 325 degrees for 5 to 6 minutes.
  • Once out of the oven, let cool slightly, but pop out of cookie cutter while still warm.
  • Let harden completely.
