Edible Handmade Chocolate Eggs
Either you are a child or an adult, you would definitely love the chocolate. So today here we are going to make edible handmade chocolate eggs. Specially kids would love to have these chocolates.
- Considerably small eggs
- Chocolate candy melts (Different colors)
- Plastic zipper sandwich baggies
- Lollipop Sticks
- Cardboard egg carton
Take an egg and poke the bigger end with a sharp knife or any other sharp tool, and remove the little bits of the egg from the hole. It is better to have a little bigger hole as you will put chocolate in from this hole.
Use the chopstick to break the yolk keeping the egg over mixing bowl. Shake and empty the egg shell into the mixing bowl. Place the egg shell into a plate.
Repeat the above process for all eggs. Eggs in mixing bowl can be used in any other recipe of your choice or simply you can prepare omelette.
Wash the egg shells by applying the water carefully in a sink. Fill the egg shells with warm water and place them in the pan containing the warm water so that eggs are dipped into the water. Now place it on fire and boil the water for 2 to 3 minutes. After boiling remove pan from stove.
Remove the egg shells from pan (carefully as they are hot). Drain out the water and let them cool / dry completely (overnight).
Place the egg shells in egg carton having the open end face up.
Place a handful of chocolate candy melts into microwave friendly bowl and heat up at 50% power for about a minute or so until all the pieces are melted.
Fill the zipper plastic bag with one of the melted color chocolate. Collect the chocolate at one corner of the bag and remove any extra air from the bag.
Twist the remaining areas of the bag to form a cone and cut the tip of the cone using a scissor.
Put the melted chocolate into egg shells through the opening. Repeat the process with other colors of chocolate to form the chocolate layers into the egg.
Place the filled eggs on the egg carton and carefully tap (not too hard, as it can break the eggs) the egg carton on the table to remove any air in them. Top the eggs with more chocolate.
Stick in a lollipop stick into eggs and place them into the refrigerator to set.
Once the chocolate is set, remove the carton from refrigerator and place onto the table or counter.
Carefully tap the sides of the eggs on the counter and peel off the egg shells.
If required, decorate them using more chocolate or any other edible material and your edible handmade chocolate eggs are ready.
